Healthy drinking water is essential to your life and to the economic future of our region.  The Cahaba River is the heart of Alabama's globally-significant biodiversity and imperiled freshwater life and a major drinking water source for nearly a fourth of Alabamians.  Recognized nationally for river stewardship, the mission of the Cahaba River Society (CRS) is to restore and protect the Cahaba River watershed and its rich diversity of life. With values of education, collaboration, stewardship, and integrity, CRS is the leading organization working with developers, government agencies, water and energy utilities, our sister environmental groups, faith communities and citizens to restore water quality in the Cahaba, safeguard our drinking water supply, and sustain a global treasure of freshwater life that the people of our region are privileged to hold in trust and enjoy.
