CAIR-MA’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote social justice and mutual understanding.

In wake of the rise spike in Islamophobic rhetoric and attacks, CAIR-MA is here to protect the Massachusetts' Muslim community and promote tolerance, education, and inter-faith initiatives.

In November 2015 CAIR MA responded to a hate crime investigation of apparently bias-motivated vandalism targeting a Burlington, Mass., mosque. Vandals spray-painted “USA” repeatedly on the exterior walls of the Islamic Center of Burlington. The graffiti, which appears to reflect a common Islamophobic theme that Muslims are not “real” Americans,” was discovered early this morning and reported to local police.

Also in November, CAIR-MA launched the first-annual Muslim Hill Day. During this day of civic engagement, Muslim community members from throughout the Massachusetts area came to the Massachusetts State House and advocated for legislation of interest not just to them, but the entire community: bills on affordable housing, addressing the school-to-prison pipeline, and reallocating funds from prisons to proactive education.  We were joined and supported by a host of excellent speakers and community leaders.

Please considering supporting the newly opened CAIR-MA chapter, as we aim to support, empower, and protect the Muslim community.
