Caldwell Veterans Council Inc

In a partnership with 5he City of Caldwell, the Caldwell Veterans' Council, comprised of community leaders and members of local Veterans groups mainly the American Legion, the Veterans of a Foreign Wars, the Coast Guard Auxillary and the Disabled American Veteran.  The council is chartered with the remodelling of the 103 year-old Carnegie Library Building.  The project will turn the historic building into a modern office building on the inside, while maintaining the historical qualities of the exterior.  To date, veteran and other volunteers have invested over 16,500 hours to work on the remodeling.  

We are at a point in the remodlling, where volunteers will not be able to install HVAC, plumbing and electrical  systems, which require licensed contractors and funding.

This project, when complete, will improve the lives of Veterans and their families through counselling services, as well as through social interaction with other Veterans and professional service providers. The Idaho Department of Veterans Services and the VetCenter have agreed to provide counseling services at the memorial hall.  Additonally, the Idaho Department of Labor will have a presence on site to assist veterans in job searchs.
