Californians for Justice believes that youth are the leaders we need to create the kinds of schools our young people deserve. We give youth the opportunity to grow as leaders, and work with them to lead projects that improve their schools and communities.
School is a critical foundation for every young person’s life. We need schools that engage every student and invest in their unique talents to put them on a path towards opportunity and success.
Unfortunately, too many of our schools fail to meet the needs of all students, especially youth of color. Students are valued partners – with proven solutions – who know what it takes to have healthy and just learning environments where they can thrive. Yet we too often forget to lift up the voices of young people to help shape the future of education in our communities.
To have the schools we need, we must listen to our young people and empower them to lead. Californians for Justice ensures students have the tools and the support to grow as leaders in a movement of their own design. We work together to advocate for the schools that our communities need now and for a brighter future for California.
When students are a part of making decisions hat shape the future of California’s schools, students, schools and communities are set up for lasting success. Young people will be able to thrive and achieve no matter where they’re from.
