At Camp Casco, we recognize that the battle with a childhood cancer lasts far beyond the last dose of chemotherapy. Camp Casco addresses the long-term emotional needs of childhood cancer patients and survivors by building supportive relationships that persist well after the week of camp itself.

Our capstone program provides a free week-long sleep-away summer camp to Massachusetts childhood cancer patients and survivors. Campers enjoy a fun-filled week of traditional summer camp activities at the YMCA Berkshire Outdoor Center, including canoeing, swimming, archery, and indoor rock climbing. Our inclusive camp environment facilitates supportive friendships between current patients and survivors. Parents can rest easy, knowing that their child is in the capable hands of our experienced camp counselors and round-the-clock professional medical staff. The entire week of camp, including transportation, is provided free-of-cost.

In August 2015, we hosted 13 local children affected by cancer in our inaugural week of camp at the YMCA Berkshire Outdoor Center in Becket, Massachusetts. In August 2016, we will return to the Berkshires with 28 campers in tow, several of whom will be returning for their second year.

We aim to raise another $5,000 towards our 2016 camp session through Valley Gives. Even better, The Jack Tarver Foundation has very generously offered to match every donation made through this campaign, up to a total of $5,000! That means that every dollar donated to Camp Casco will go twice as far, and with your help, we can send another 5 local children to camp in 2016.
