017-Summer is here and the demand for our programs has grown. We Launched a program for getting youth into the woods and are doing our first week. It has been spectacular to watch kids who have never been in the out of doors excel, relax and let go of the troubles of homelessness, poverty, and the rat race of the city. We have special needs youth and Typically developing youth in all working to gether inpartnership. These young people come together, support each other and learn about each others strengths and weakness. There is a wonderful world of acceptance that is build on knowing each other and feeling valued.
- Our high school youth are fully engaged in service having provided service to children, the disabled, and the elderly. They have protected the enviornment through service to the out of doors, helped animals at an animal shelter and explored career opportunities.
- Club program youth continue to work toward achieving their Camp Fire Ranks. They have participated in a variety of community and club activities that help them build assets.
- Camp Kids are prepariing for summer camp and excited to be coming to new places.
- We held our URBAN HIKE in Baltimore engaging youth and families in outdoor learning experiences and fun. Youth planned and assisted with the event and were able to demonstrate leadership.
- Our partnership with Loyola in Charles County has opened opportunities for youth in the community.
