Camp River Run Inc

 Camp River Run, a dream that began with our founder Shawna, in September of 2004, while visiting with a 17 year old girl who was in and out of remission with her battle with cancer.  Despite multiple hospital visits and uncertain prognosis, she always remained so positive and optimistic about her future. One afternoon Shawna asked her what motivated her to keep going despite her situation. She said what kept her going was knowing that she would have the opportunity to serve as a junior camp counselor later that year at a camp for kids with cancer. She went on to say that going to camp every summer as a child made her and all the other kids feel “normal” for one week out of the year.

This summer we will provide our 9th summer camp at Pilgrim Cove in McCall, Idaho. Each year kids 7-17 and volunteers including a medical team experience fun activities, arts & crafts, games, great food, peaceful nights around the campfire singing songs and tons of wonderful memories were part of that experience we all shared!  We work all year long collecting donations and fundraising to make this camp dream a reality every year.  We hope to never turn a child away due to lack of funding.

Camp River Run is changing lives.  After attending our camp the campers become more independant, more social and more confident. We benefit the community by bringing people together to share precious moments in the life of a child, at no cost to their families who are usually facing mounting medical expenses. We are so grateful for the support of organizations willing to help us achieve our goals.  Thank you for considering our organization for your generosity that will make dreams come true during  our camp program this coming summer.
