Camp Circle Star

Camp Circle Star (CCS) is a specialized camp for children and adults with disabilities, ages five and up. CCS is designed to be a unique experience for each camper, with 1:1 support and individualized activities to explore. Located on 22 acres, Camp Circle Star provides all that one would expect of a camp: hiking trails, a stocked fishing pond, outdoor playgrounds and bounce houses, as well as a heated pool. Our 4,000 square foot camp house boasts a variety of developmentally appropriate rooms, including a Sensory Room, Art Room, Wildlife Observation Area, Music Room, Pretend Pet Clinic, Nature Room, and Game Area.

We currently hold eight weeks of Summer Camp for campers ages 5 to 18. For the past few years, we have expanded programming to adults that have aged out of our other programs. We now offer one week of Summer Camp dedicated solely to our adult campers. We also offer Overnight Camps and Saturday Camps throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.  In the month of December, thanks to the generosity of a local church, we are now holding several days of Winter Break Camp.  Finally, we host Family Days to all of our camp families. Mom and Dad, siblings, and even extended family are invited down to spend the day enjoying all that Camp Circle Star has to offer.

Children and adults with special needs often feel isolated from their larger community. Social interactions with their peers are often limited or absent all together. This isolation can lead to negative behaviors and also impact the family dynamic. Finding suitable, developmentally appropriate activities for adults and children with disabilities can be a real challenge for their caregivers. Camp Circle Star not only creates a safe, supported environment for this particular population, but it also provides much needed respite for families.
