Campfire Institute Inc

Campfire Institute provides safe spaces in nature for LGBRQ+ teens.  Our programs build outdoor leadership skills, confidence, and relationships!  We offer a variety of adventures to help kids unplug, get outside and connect to nature and themselves!  

Dedicated queer spaces are important because we all deserve judgement free and safe environments. LGBTQ+ youth can struggle with depression, dysphoria, and finding places to fit in. Campfire Institute’s OUT trips provide space for youth to foster community with others who may be going through similar life experiences. 

Nature explorations are empowering opportunities for gaining confidence and resilience. These skills can create positive pathways that are useful when we return to our everyday lives.

Campfire Institute Is committed to providing equitable access to nature. We strive to close gaps that have historically kept girls, people of color, and underserved communities from reaping the benefits of wilderness experiences and seeing themselves represented in it. We will not turn anyone away based on their ability to pay.
