Canandaigua Kiwanis Foundation Inc

For the last several years, Inclusion in Motion in conjunction with the Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua has been raising funds to BUILD an All-Inclusive Playground and Health and Wellness Area in Canandaigua.   It will be located at Outhouse Park West.  It is our mission to empower all abilities and ages to play, exercise, learn, and socialize together while enriching our community.

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF AN INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND?

A truly Inclusive Playground is not just accessible, but it is an environment that facilitates parallel play. Parallel play is when children of all abilities are playing side-by-side, engaged in each other, and laying the groundwork for more complex social stages of play. The socialization that is fostered from a play environment carries over into the community between all abilities and all ages.

We have a goal of raising close to $1,000,000 and to date we have raised over $700,000.  We are still in need of funds to complete our build which is scheduled to take place August 23rd-29th.
