THE PROBLEM

-10,000 Silicon Valley residents are diagnosed with cancer each year.

-Institute of Medicine recommends that all cancer patients and family members receive psychosocial and other support services in addition to medical care.

- Hospitals and physicians have limited time and services to provide and they are not accessible to everyone.

 

WHAT WE DO

-Personalized, one-on-one support services for all cancer patients and their families to help with the psychological, practical and spiritual impacts of cancer

- Cancer CAREpoint is the only local organization that provides free services to all cancer patients, no matter where they receive care, what kind of cancer, or their insurance status

-Counseling, Assistance, Resources and Education (CARE) includes:

Individual and family counseling with social workers, nutrition classes and private consults, support groups, exercise and yoga classes, education workshops, art therapy, therapeutic massage, guided imagery and meditation, Wig Bank, special programs for survivors and families, information and referral and more.

OUR IMPACT

- More than 1,300 clients served in 2015, an increase of 30%

- Clients come from all hospitals in Silicon Valley and represent 24 different types of cancer

- Clients report 95% feel less stress and anxiety, 83% experience reduced pain, 99.8% would recommend Cancer CAREpoint programs and services to others
