Cantabile Youth Singers

Cantabile Youth Singers contributes to the community by teaching a world-class youth choral music education program that nurtures each singer’s body, mind and heart as they collaborate to learn performance skills, develop self-esteem and confidence; we develop audiences and performers for the future.

We rely on your support-tuition covers only 65% of our expenses we have to raise 35% of our operating costs each year. Over 74% of Cantabile’s budget is devoted to direct program delivery-less than 25% of our costs are administrative.

Our Signe Boyer Scholarship Fund helps us ensure that no child is ever turned away because of financial need.

Each year we host the Cantabile Festival for Young Voices providing local school choirs with workshops, the opportunity to work with an accomplished visiting composer; we offer a free public concert for over 350 singers and an audience of 650.

We offer incomparable educational programs and expanding classes - we are the only local choral organization in the Bay Area that provides comprehensive music education and musicianship training to children starting at age four.

We support a New Music Commission Fund that helps bring new music to local youth to perform and share.

We have highly qualified teachers who are deeply passionate about music education.

Cantabile was established in 1994 by music teacher and choral conductor Signe Boyer in response to the need for a music education program that provides vocal technique, music theory and group singing instruction in a non-religious setting.  Signe’s vision and legacy continue through the Signe Boyer Scholarship Fund that ensures that no child is ever turned away for financial reasons.  Today-Cantabile is even more relevant than ever-choral music is a collaborative effort that brings singers together, builds self esteem, enhances language and math learning acquisition and can even synchronize heartbeats and lower them collectively!  A powerful antidote for today's hyper-competitive, over-scheduled and individually focused society.
