Capstone Missions Inc

Capstone Missions’ origin dates back to 1997, when individuals from Jerome, Idaho heard of an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico in dire need of help.  They were told that St. Joseph’s Home was overcrowded and in desperate need of repairs to the building.  Two families from Jerome traveled to Tijuana to investigate and do what they could to help.  St. Joseph’s Home has been the heart of Capstone Missions’ work since that first trip.  They are a part of our Capstone family, and we still provide their main financial support. 

Since the first trip in 1997, hundreds of volunteers have traveled to Tijuana to help with building projects and offered financial assistance for the children with various disabilities that other orphanages could not or would not accept.  As support and interest in our mission increased, so too did the capability of the growing organization that became Capstone Missions.  We were incorporated as an Idaho nonprofit in 2002.  In 2008, we also began supporting Hacienda de la Inmaculada Orphanage where approximately 50 children are currently housed.  Many construction projects have been completed by our teams over the years to provide sound housing at the Hacienda.

Capstone Missions still provides monthly financial support for St. Joseph’s Home and the Hacienda, critical to the continuing operation of these homes.  This monthly assistance is the only consistent, monthly funding received by St. Joseph’s and pays for utilities, nutritious meals, sound housing, and education. 

Education is central to a promising future for the children.  Without a solid education, they encounter serious barriers to living a full and productive life.  Capstone Missions has also pledged to continue assisting the children from St. Joseph's as they graduate from high school and go on to university or technical school.
