The CARE Clinic Inc

Since its inception in 1993, The CARE Clinic has aspired to be a force for a healthier community. Our mission is to provide free, quality healthcare to the low-income, uninsured adult residents of Cumberland and bordering counties. The people we serve are those who fall through the cracks of the system and cannot even afford the healthcare programs available through the Affordable Care Act. 

Our services include: primary care, simple dental extractions, diagnostic laboratory testing, health education, referrals to specialists, and pharmacy services. In 2021, the clinic provided 1,210 medical appointments, 448 dental appointments and 5,784 medications. We could not do this without the gift of time provided by our volunteer staff: Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Dentists, Dental Assistants, Nurses, Pharmacy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Social Workers and Nutritionists. They treat our patients with the compassion and care they deserve. 

The CARE Clinic receives zero government assistance as a nonprofit and instead relies on the generosity of donors to support the growing costs of maintaining a functioning clinic. It costs approximately $100 to cover the care of one patient.
