Caring for Bethlehem

Caring for Bethlehem provides a variety of much-needed support to Bethlehem residents who are struggling. 

• Through our Food Bank we offer fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, locally sourced milk and eggs, and canned and packaged food.

• Our Fuel Bank provides residents assistance with oil, propane, and electricity.

• Through the Assistance Fund, we help with emergency funding to meet a variety of unexpected expenses that our residents sometimes face.

• Our Scholarship Fund helps students, both those graduating from high school and adults, enrolled in or attending college or university meet the high cost of tuition.

• Our new Aging at Home program provides funding for light housekeeping, simple handyman services, and other basic services to help older Bethlehem residents facing financial insecurity remain in their homes.

Caring for Bethlehem is led and run totally by volunteers.

Who We Are

Caring for Bethlehem, Inc. provides an umbrella of support for members of the community of Bethlehem who are in need, by coordinating programs and partnering with other organizations.
Caring for Bethlehem volunteers manage the Bethlehem Food Bank & Comfort Closet, which provide food and personal care items three days a week for those in need.
The Assistance Committee, under the direction of the Board of Directors, receives and vets requests for financial assistance and distributes money from the Fuel Bank and Assistance Fund.
The Scholarship Committee accepts applications and allocates scholarships.
