The Caring Place Incorporated

The Caring Place provides safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children.  Through education and awareness, we empower all members of our community to live in peace. 

We Provide:

Safe shelter for both women and men and their dependent children who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.

A Women's Recovery Program in collaboration with Porter Starke Services, providing housing and case management for women suffering from addiction.

An Emergency Response Volunteer (ERV) Program, where staff and volunteers assist victims of rape and violence through the initial stages of trauma at a hospital or clinic.

Community educational programming on sexual assault, domestic violence, teen dating violence, and workplace violence.

Legal aid for assistance with protective orders.

All services are free and confidential.

The Amanda Forum

In order to expand our current efforts on teen dating violence prevention in our community, The Caring Place, sponsored by the Women's Impact Fund of Porter County, has created a student-led youth dating violence prevention taskforce.  This student led taskforce will drive The Amanda Forum, a Porter County youth empowerment intiative focused on education , awarness, active discussion, and modeling of healthy relationship skills.
