Caritas Connections Inc

Founded in 1976, Caritas Connections is an all-volunteer, not for profit 501-C-3 organization located in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1976, Caritas collects food and other donated items and distributes them at no cost, to worthy non-profit organizations in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  These partner organizations use them to clothe, feed and assist the needy in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. The organization started by picking up day old bread and sweets from area bakeries. From there, we grew to purchasing food, personal care products and other needed items that our partner agencies requested. As we became known for this specialized type of service, requests for those services increased until now, our more than 170 dedicated volunteers provides goods to food pantries, homeless outreach programs, Senior Services/Housing, nursing homes and children’s services.  

Currently, we partner with 30 clients located throughout the metro St. Louis area - including two clients in East St. Louis, and clients in rural counties of St. Louis. The majority are in North St.  Louis City and Coun

Unlike many other charitable based organizations, Caritas Connections does not have its own location for distributing to those in need. Instead, think of us a liaison between retail and wholesale organizations that donate items, individuals who donate on their own and our clients who have their own people in need. That may be a homeless shelter, a food pantry, a children's home or senior living facility. In addition to picking up and making deliveries, we have also added Dedicated Shoppers who can go out and get the items that the individuals our clients serve really need. These are often items like incontinence products, toothpaste or dietary supplements that are not covered by food stamps.
