Seniors with a sense of purpose are happier, more fulfilled and healthier. Congregate meals give seniors a daily activity to anticipate. The social interaction provides an environment where peer to peer interaction takes place that leads to seniors becoming emotionally vested in the group.

The Carson City Senior Citizens Center works hard to offer meals on site and to home-bound seniors, activities, services and collaborates with multiple agencies in the area. Your donation helps to ensure our Carson City Seniors can continue to live independent, social lives.

The center began in 1972 when the local Kiwanis Club acquired two old houses that were slated for demolition. The houses were connected with a breezeway and the Center was born, initially offering senior nutrition services with grants from the State of Nevada, Division of Aging services.
