Since its inception in 1982, Casa de Vida has provided an invaluable service to our community by offering personalized care and comprehensive services to one of our most vulnerable populations: the pregnant and the parenting young, unwed woman. Our philosophy is based on the importance and value of each human life from conception until death. Our desire is to assist any young pregnant woman within the community, enabling her to bring her baby into the world surrounded with love, compassion and support. Our staff, which includes a live-in housemother, a professional social worker, an Executive Director, and volunteers, strive to support each woman served as she develops the skills needed to control her own life, as well as to establish and define her ideals and aspirations for her baby, and to help her succeed in the Pathways to Success program.

Hundreds of women have found a home at Casa de Vida, where we strive to help them secure a bright and productive future for themselves by providing them with emotional and physical support in the present.  As the women live in our home and participate in the Pathways to Success program, we enable them to evaluate their life choices and implement lasting positive changes with the tools and skills needed to become the best woman and mother life she can be.

The Casa de Vida Pathways to Success program offers:

  • A residence for pregnant young women in need of shelter, with a live-in housemother; stays range from a few days to eight months or more
  • A semi-independent transitional home for postpartum mothers and her baby
  • Individual, family and group counseling by a licensed professional social worker, for agency clients, and any other pregnant or parenting woman in need
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Parenting, budgeting, nutrition and child development classes
  • Practical Independent Life Skills and Anger Management classes
