Turning a life of hurt into a life of hope one child at a time!

The Mission of C.A.S.A. of San Bernardino County is to improve the quality of life for foster youth and youth on probation with stable and consistent advocacy and mentoring provided through trained community volunteers.

In San Bernardino County, approximately 5,700 children & youth living in the foster care system. These youth have not only been victims of abuse/neglect but as a result, have been removed from their homes and placed into foster care. Sadly they then must learn to survive and navigate the complicated and over burdened child welfare system alone.

Often times youth referred to our organization experience a sense of loss, grief, isolation, depression, anxiety, lack of confidence and loss of connection. These feelings can lead to falure in school, self harm, delinquent behavior, and moving from home to home, just to name a few.

C.A.S.A. volunteers provide stability and hope to abused and neglected youth by being a consistent and strong presence in their lives. Volunteers are sworn in and appointed by the Juvenile Dependency Court and must report back to the court on the youth's progress every six months.

We hope that providing youth in this fragile population with a one-on-one connection to a stable volunteer will help to create the change that this community so desperately needs!
