Catalyst San Gabriel Valley Incorporated

Catalyst San Gabriel Valley believes that under served youth, families and schools are meant to thrive, not just survive. We believe that organizing as many community stakeholders as possible is the key to seeing that lasting change for our local families and schools in need.

Catalyst SGV has three main areas where we "seek the welfare of the city" (Jeremiah 29:7):

1. HOPE (HOmeless & Parent Engagement) - We serve youth and families considered homeless by three school districts that cover five cities in the San Gabriel Valley. Our intensive case management helps navigate families through the maze of bureaucracies and local resources, including our local and congregational partners. We also provide parent support workshops, peer mentoring, and as needed direct support of supplies, clothing, food, and hotel vouchers.

2. Project Rise - We train at promise teens 12-18 years old on evidence-based curriculum that teaches them knowledge and skills around having healthy relationships.

3. Adopt A School - We support under served schools with backpacks, holiday food packages, supplies, teacher appreciations, parent workshops and other supports. We also specialize in designing, installing, maintaining and teaching from school gardens as a way of helping urban students and the school community connect with nature and all its benefits.
