Catholic Charities has been serving the poor and underserved within the five county Diocese of St. Petersburg (Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus) since 1940. We operate numerous social service programs under three umbrella Ministries of Mercy that assisted over 15,000 people and served over 200,000 meals in 2017: 

• Foundations of Life (FOL) - FOL Pregnancy Center (4 locations), Knights Women's Center, Project Rachel - post-abortive  counseling - and Catholic Charities Adoption Services

• Friends in Need - medical clinics, immigration & citizenship services, refugee resettlement, financial/housing literacy counseling & assistance (Rapid Rehousing and Pathways), respite care for Alzheimer's sufferers and their caretakers 

• Shelters of Hope - homeless shelters (Pinellas Hope, Pasco Women's Shelter), affordable housing  for the elderly, the disabled (Bethany Family Apartments), HIV/AIDS positive homeless (Mercy House/Apartments & Christopher Apts.), migrant farmworkers (San Jose Mission in Dover), U.S. military vets, adult men with severe and persistent mental illness (Benedict Haven) and low income families (Catholic Charities Housing).
