Cats in Bloom

Cats in Bloom was founded in 2019 with the mission to help stray, abandoned and abused cats and kittens in the Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Lycoming, and Union counties find great adoptive homes. Our vision is to provide an ameowzing place for adoptable cats and people to meet and socialize in Bloomsburg, PA. We are a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit, and every single penny goes towards supporting the cats and kittens in our care along with café rent and maintenance.

Cats in Bloom has currently helped over 1,900 cats find their forever homes. In order to keep the momentum going, we'd love to be considered your choice from the very worthy nonprofits featured in this year's Raise the Region event.

It has been almost a year since our 2025 Raise the Region campaign, and we wanted to let you know what we’ve been up to thanks to your generosity! In 2025:

• 7,267 visitors stopped by to see our cats and kittens at the café
• 2 kids & kitties summer camps were held
• 3 community events continued: 
  • Kids & Kitties at the Bloomsburg Public Library
  • Cat Tales at the Bloomsburg Children's Museum
  • Cat Tales at the Degenstein Community Library
• 1 partnership continued with Friends & Ferals, another  nonprofit helping cats in our area
• 1 work-study program continued with Commonwealth University students
• 11,000 followers kept up with our Facebook page
• $103,945.53 spent solely on cat care (plus $22,278 used for building expenses and utilities)
• 394 cats and kittens found their forever homes (and over 1,900 cats have since we opened in 2019)!

Cats in Bloom has become such an integral part of our community thanks to your generosity. We hope that you will consider supporting us again in the coming months, especially during our Raise the Region campaign on March 11 and 12, 2026. We greatly appreciate your support to help so many cats and kittens change their stories to happy endings. As always, we remain a completely volunteer 501c3 nonprofit with no paid employees.
