CAWS Saves Lives

In 2016, CAWS adopted out more than 1,200 dogs and cats into their forever homes. We work and partner directly with local shelters and focus on high risk animals that do not thrive in a shelter setting, ultimately being faced with euthanasia. CAWS takes on the orphaned kittens and puppies, injured and senior animals giving them a second chance.

CAWS is Volunteer Based

We are a united group of volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats, no matter the circumstances. We rescue them from shelters and bring them into our homes. We help dogs and cats heal physically and emotionally by taking them to the vet for treatments, and by showing them unconditional love: something that many of them never had.

CAWS Completes Families

Many families do not feel complete without an animal to love. Pets love people in a special way that only they can. Research has shown that families with pets are more physically fit, suffer from less stress, depression and loneliness, and have an improved sense of well being. Our adoption and foster program allows pets to enter into families homes, and ultimately become a permanent member of the family.

CAWS is Reducing Euthanasia Rates

CAWS is dedicated holistically to helping the community. Besides our adoption & foster program, CAWS has a low income Spay and Neuter Program, to assist those in the community who are not finanically able to fix their pets. Spaying/neutering is vital to reducing euthanasia rates and pet overpopulation. This program directly benefits community members that need assistance the most, and works towards all animals being spayed/neutered.

TNR: Community Cats Need Us Too!

In addition to helping pets in our local shelters, CAWS also facilates a Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) program for community cats. We have an experienced team of volunteers who trap community cats, transport them to be fixed by a veterinarian, and then return them back to their colony site. This program is so vital, as it works towards decreasing pet overpopulation and controling the number of community cats that we have in our communities. Community cats need love too, and CAWS provides the care and support that they need to live happy, healthy lives.

We Operate on 100% Donations.

We can only save as many lives as we have funds for.  Your support goes a long way to end suffering and save the lives of dogs and cats everyday in our community. We appreciate every single donation which goes toward the spay/neuter of animals, senior wellness exams/blood tests, amputations, surgeries, diagnostic tests, medicine, insulin and ensuring that every pet in our community has a safe place to call home.
