CBI is passionate to see Middletown transformed one child, one family, one neighborhood at a time.

CBI is housed at the Robert “Sonny” Hill Jr. Community Center (RSHCC), which is located in the south end of Middletown, but serves the whole of Middletown.  Our location is ideally situated to serve families with children who live in poverty.  In Middletown, the poverty rate is 38% with many of those homes being single-mother homes.  1 in 3 children are not ready for Kindergarten and statistics show those kids who start behind stay behind.  22% of Middletown adults do not have their High School Diploma or GED.

Our goals for Middletown are to see children adequately prepared to enter kindergarten, students reading on grade level by the third grade, youth set up for success post-graduation through college and career preparedness  and for parents earning a living wage that allows their families to thrive.

By helping families at every generational level we affect the community as a whole through sustainable programs that revitalize the Middletown area. We can also create a mental shift moving individuals from discouragement, tyranny of the moment and sense of powerless to being encouraged and having future orientation and choice.  Will you partner with us in transforming Middletown?
