This past year has been something out of a Hollywood movie. It’s been unreal, scary at times, a constant learning experience, yet always filled with hope. COVID-19 has negatively impacted seniors like our beloved residents in so many ways. We have spent the past year in isolation, numerous quarantine periods, and physically separated from loved ones.
Our residents longed to hug their loved ones for a year. Family had only seen their loved ones virtually or behind a glass window. Residents could not eat in congregate settings, participate in group activities, or have social gatherings. We have been masked and socially distant for more than a year. However, we’ve been successful at protecting our residents. Despite the fact that COVID has personally impacted our residents, we refuse to let it steal our joy! Our residents have felt loved and cherished by our extraordinary team members who have become a surrogate family for them.
Our perseverance and resourcefulness has helped us receive grants for IPads and PPE. The maintenance department created Visitor Cottages for climate controlled window visits. While CCHS is discovering new ways to stretch a dollar to cover the rising costs resulting from the pandemic, our Foundation is looking at ways they can help with enriching the personal lives of our residents. This pandemic has shown us areas that our Foundation may wish to focus on, such as:
2020 was a year of great adversity, but it was also a year of great creativity that overcame adversity. Our financial priorities have shifted and we’re planning for a future that holds permanent changes from the pandemic. Our needs are great at both of our facilities. Your donation to the Christian Community Campus Foundation will benefit seniors in both Polk and St. Croix Counties!
By donating to our Foundation through giveBIG, you are personally changing lives of our elders.
CCHS is a nonprofit, faith-based organization that has been providing exceptional senior care since 1981.
