The Children's Center for Hope & Healing
Child sexual abuse is the exploitation of a child for sexual gratification by an adult or adolescent. Types of sexual abuse range in behaviors that could include exhibitionism in front of a child or adolescent, fondling, exposure to pornography, and more violent behavior such as rape and sodomy. 24% of these victims are abused before the age of 5 with 80 to 90% of cases involving an offender that is known or related to the victim. Statistics also show that 50% of victims are offended in their own homes.
Without treatment, these children are at high risk of depression, sleep disruption, anxiety and night terrors. Teens abused as children or an adolescent can also develop alcohol or drug problems, academic failure, being a school drop-out, eating disorders, severe depression, health problems, or suicide.
At the Children's Center for Hope and Healing, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of children, teens and adults who have been sexually abused.
CCHH provides no-cost therapeutic services to children ages 3-17 and adults who have been victims of sexual abuse or sexual assault. With the help of our highly trained therapists, CCHH clients learn that the abuse they have suffered was not their fault. We work with the family of the abused individual as well to bring wholeness and restoration to all.
CCHH's mission is to restore dignity, trust, and hope to individuals and families traumatized by child sexual abuse through accessible and effective therapy, advocacy, and education.
Because we work diligently to hold down costs, treatment for one child for a year of therapy is just about $500.00.
Help CCHH transform the trauma from child sexual abuse into opportunities for growth and resilience. Supporting counseling that CCHH therapists provide empowers children and families to heal and thrive.
