Casa del Toro (C.D.T.) was founded in 1999 as a private rescue. In 2010 we received 501(c)3 status and have continued to rescue and place pit bulls while educating the public about pit bulls.

C.D.T. improves the quality of life for pit bulls in a variety of ways.

  • Outreach - C.D.T. does street team outreach in the 46201 zip code providing residents with free vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.
  • Kennel Enrichment - C.D.T. operates a kennel enrichment program at Indianapolis Animal Care & Control that provides the animals with mental, sensory and physical stimulation in order to maintain their welfare while at the shelter.
  • Adoptions - in 2012 C.D.T. rescued and placed 27 pit bulls in loving homes and sent 24 pit bulls out east on the Canine Express to waiting shelters and their forever homes.
