In 2013, Children’s Advocacy Centers around the country served nearly 295,000 child victims of abuse.  In 2014, the number was over 315,000.

As a Children’s Advocacy Center, the Center for Children is a vital resource servicing the Southern Maryland community.

CENTER FOR CHILDREN, INC.
A private non-profit organization founded in 1989, the Center for Children is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and the promotion of positive mental health through crisis intervention, therapy, education, and advocacy.

As the largest provider of children's mental health services in Southern Maryland, the Center for Children serves more than 4,500 individuals a year from Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's counties, in addition to Southern Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties. Helping children of all ages, the Center is a major resource for the Department of Social Services, county health departments, schools, pediatricians and youth organizations.
