The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) is developing and inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators -- connecting them to one another and to world renowned experts and leaders in STEM. The Center's programs are offered without cost to participants.

The Center's mission is to nurture high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to encourage collaboration between and among leaders in the global community.

With over 33 years of experience, the Center has developed the Research Science Institute (RSI), the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO), and the Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP). This is all made possible by individuals, foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies. The Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.

The Research Science Institute (RSI) creates a challenging and supportive environment for top academic high school science and mathematics students to develop advanced skills in research, computation, scientific writing, and presentation.

Taking place for six weeks in the summer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, students conduct individual research projects under the tutelage of scientists and researchers to encourage their pursuit of careers in science and technology. To date, there are over 2,300 alumni of RSI.

The USA Biology Olympiad (USABO) strives to propel U.S. high school students and their teachers to reach the gold standard in biology teaching and learning. More than 10,000 students register annually for the USABO. The USABO Finalists are immersed in lectures and laboratories led by leading scientists and researchers in the fields of biology.

The Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP) engages high school science and math teachers in rural and urban cities of Texas, Virginia, California, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, South Carolina and Maryland. The Program helps to assure a future talented and diverse U.S. workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  TEP provides rural and urban high school teachers the opportunity to connect with experts from industry and academia to explore cutting-edge research and make meaningful professional links with direct benefits for their students.

CEE has contributed to the scientific leadership of this country since its founding in 1983 by the late Admiral H.G. Rickover, the father of the nuclear navy and civilian uses of nuclear power, and Joann DiGennaro, CEE’s President.

Your gift to CEE will provide opportunities for future generations of high school and university scholars who are aspiring scientists, researchers, innovators, and leaders in STEM.  Ensure the unique and ongoing work of CEE by donating today.
