Central Catholic High School, a college preparatory school for boys, is guided by the educational principles of St. John Baptist de La Salle. The school strives to provide a challenging, relevant, and diverse program of studies and extracurricular activities in an environment that fosters a life of faith and learning and develops leaders rooted in the Gospel values of integrity, respect, service, justice and peace.

Central Catholic is a college preparatory school, grades 9 through 12. The student body reflects the rich ethnic, cultural, and racial diversity of Pittsburgh. Students come from more than 50 different grade schools and 90 parishes in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. Central offers more than 100 courses including those which are required and those that are chosen by the students. A college-in-high school program enables qualified students to earn academic credit from Duquesne University, La Roche College and the University of Pittsburgh before high school graduation. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes Central Catholic as one of the nation's 'outstanding secondary schools.'
