Mission

The Central Wyo. Rescue Mission, formerly Soul's Anchor Rescue Mission, was established to offer a programatic approach to help the men & women it serves. Along with meeting immediate crisis needs, each guest is seen by a case worked within 72 hours to develop a program plan that gives them the opportunity, with accountability, to work on the issues that led them to homelessness. The staff addresses guests' physical, emotional and spiritual needs with the ultimate goal of helping them to achieve successful independent living.

Programs

In 2007, Central Wyoming Rescue Mission provided over 32,000 meals and filled its beds nearly 20,000 times. The Emergency Shelter Program offers housing, three hot meals a day, laundry, clothes, showers, and non-medical detox. A typical stay is 1 to 14 days with an approved program plan. Residential Program offers the ES options as well as long-term housing and intensive case management. There is no time limit on an individual's stay as long as progress is being made in completing their program covenant. Long-term housing offers development of life skills needed for independent living (cooking, laundry, money management...) with a stay of up to two years with ongoing progress on individual program covenant. Guests in this program may be attending the Mission's Discipleship Training Program, improving their job skills through work at Rescued Treasures Thrift Store, working on their GED, or attending college. CWRM is a certified Half-way House with the Sheridan Veteran's Administration. Our qualified, caring staff includes a state certified and national certified substance abuse counselor. CWRM recently acquired a new building and expanded to serve women and children in a separate facility in 2007.
