Chamber Orchestra Ogden

Mission Statement:

Chamber Orchestra Ogden is dedicated to supporting the arts and to bringing our community together by providing highly professional musical performances for a wide range of audiences, with an emphasis on community outreach.

 Background:

• Chamber Orchestra Ogden (COO) was formed officially in June of 2011 after existing for a year as a casual orchestra.
• The orchestra members are a combination of local musicians from Ogden and surrounding communities, and Weber State University faculty and alumni.
• All members are auditioned for membership, and are professional level performers, most of whose main vocations are outside of the professional performing area.
• All of the orchestra members are paid a small amount.
• The orchestra consists of 50-60 players, depending on the music being performed.
• Although we are a chamber orchestra we do make use of full brass and percussion at times.

 COO endeavors to be an Ogden area orchestra, however we draw an audience of locals as well as surrounding counties.  We are continually seeking ways to broaden our reach. 

 We perform three concerts during our regular season, from October through early May.

• All of these concerts are in downtown Ogden's Peery's Egyptian theater, and begin at 7:30. 
• Tickets are $8.00.  Veterans, active military and their families are admitted without charge.
• Tickets may be purchased at the door with cash or credit cards, or online at brownpapertickets.com.
• The orchestra also plays for other special events.
• We routinely collaborate with other arts organizations such as Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM) and Imagine Ballet Theatre.
• This past summer we performed two different ballets with Imagine Ballet Theatre, and in August of 2016 we joined forces with Ogden’s Good Company Theatre  for multiple performances of the musical Pirated at the Ogden Amphitheater.

 Children 8 and older are welcome to attend all of our events.
