Champions for Children Inc

When we fail to prevent child abuse and neglect, we all suffer. Since 1977, Champions for Children has worked to build strong families with safe, thriving children in the Tampa Bay region through our child abuse prevention and family education programs. 

Sadly, Hillsborough County perpetually ranks among the highest in the state for the most reported and confirmed cases of child abuse and neglect, making absolutely critical that we work to prevent cases of abuse before they can begin.  Through our services, parents receive hands-on training, support and the information needed to face the many challenges and pleasures of raising healthy, happy and well adjusted children. 

Our 11 research-based and evidence-informed prevention and education programs programs touch the lives of more than 38,000 individuals annually. Our programs are designed to support "any child, any family", and we work hard to assist to both parents at-risk for violent behavior and parents who just need a helping hand. These programs offer services such as home visits, workshops, support groups and developmental playgroups to engage families early on to help parents enhance their parenting skills, as well as their children’s physical, social and intellectual development.

As a nationally accredited agency, we operate in accordance with best practice standards and consistently strive to deliver superior services to our children and families. Each year, our highly trained and educated staff strengthens more and more families throughout the county providing valuable and measurable services that help children grow and reach their fullest potential.
