Thank you for visiting The ChangeUp Charity! We are excited to be among the new non-profits with Richland gives this year! Here is a little bit about our organization:

MISSION/ABOUT US:  The ChangeUp Charity is a 501c3 nonprofit founded by Danny King, along with family and friends, in 2023. Our mission is to help financially burdened youth athletes the chance to play baseball or softball by providing financial support and/or new or gently used equipment to families. We have an active board of 9 individuals dedicated to help youth athletes in the Mid-Ohio area and across Ohio.

HISTORY:  Danny King founded The ChangeUp Charity while attending The University of Northwestern Ohio, where he earned a scholarship as a college catcher. Baseball became an instrumental force in Danny's life, paving the way towards opportunities, scholarships, college offers, travel, friendships, and the important life-lessons only baseball can teach. After playing the game of baseball for over 16 years, he was inspired to begin helping the youth, financially, after recognizing many do not play because they cannot afford it. Because baseball teaches so many life lessons such as leadership, sacrifice, commitment, teamwork, failure and success, Danny and his family wanted to give every youth athlete the chance to explore where participation in the sport can take them. Every young child deserves the chance to play baseball or softball. And to every child, Danny wants the youth to always remember to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. 

HOW IT WORKS:  We work closely with coaches and program directors, who are familiar with the needs of their players and/or team. Monetary donations go towards baseball/softball equipment and team fees. We also have an expanding inventory of new and gently used equipment that can be given as well. This includes gloves, bats, catching gear, helmets, balls, and so much more. 

FUNDRAISING:  We host and/or participate in skills clinics, operate a batting cage for the youth to use, offer private lessons, and plan and coordinate fundraising events, both online and in person. We are also blessed to have several individual and corporate donors who believe in our mission to help youth athletes. 

RECENT ACTIVITY:  We were excited to help Shelby Little League by giving bats and gloves to a few players in need. We were also excited to be able to donate an L-Screen to the players on Crestline High School's baseball team...those players needed one! We have donated many bats, gloves, and balls to young players and have helped with skills clinics and private lessons for young players.
