Charles Allis-Villa Terrace Museums

Both the Smith and Allis families bequeathed their homes and art collections to the public for the enrichment of Milwaukee's citizens. In 2017 we will celebrate 120 years of service as public institutions. Both museums support local and regional artistic production and thought through the production of six original exhibitions a year. Programing at the Charles Allis Art Museum includes art workshops for Veterans in partnership with the VA Medical Center. At the Villa Terrace Art in the Garden is a program that supports MPS art teachers and students with fieldtrips to the museum, which ultimately produce art centered around themes seen at the Villa Terrace. Each year a culminating art opening is held where students can see their work exhibited in the museum. Additional art events and programing include theatre, music, writing, and poetry.

A central part of our mission is the care and preservation of these historic homes and art collections for future generations.
