At CRTM we save small dogs with big hearts from the stress of overpopulated shelters and the very real danger of being euthanized. Our dogs come from all over Nevada and California, in parts of California; Chihuahuas are the number one most euthanized breed of dog. No Chi is safe from being euthanized, whether pregnant, young, old, sick or healthy. Some of our Chihuahuas have come from the horror of puppy mills and other abusive or neglectful situations and need the comfort and love of their foster family to remind them what it's like to just be a dog again. When we rescue a Chi they will stay with us for life if they do not find a home, we will let them live out their days with love and a warm bed. Often we take on hospice dogs so that when they pass they will know love instead of hate and neglect.

Our Chihuahuas are all in foster homes, they are treated as a member of the family until we can find them a family of their very own. The dogs attend adoption events twice a month. We adopt out between 1-3 dogs each event! Some of dogs will be with us for life because they have special needs. The cost of keeping these dogs cared for is very costly. We have outstanding vet bills that we make payments on but would really like to pay off.

If we could raise enough money we would like to open a facility, a Chi haven. A place where the public could come and visit with our dogs. A place that will give the dogs room to run and play and still offer the dogs a home. A place for sick dogs to rest, to heal, or to enjoy their final days; A place for momma dogs to give birth in a safe enviroment; A paradise for all small dogs.

Currently we adopt our dogs out of an adoption trailer, we would love to put some money into the trailer so that our name/logo could be on it and we could update the inside to make it more adoption/dog friendly! We are an extreamly small rescue and we just don't generate the money/attention that bigger organizations get. We hope to change that and make sure CRTM leaves its mark!
