For over 40 years, Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) has been a steady, compassionate presence for children and youth experiencing foster care in Bexar County. We’ve walked alongside thousands of children during the most difficult times in their lives. We’re thrilled to share some cool news: Barry and Bonnie Bankler have fully funded the brand-new sunshade for our toddler playground! This gift means the children we serve will have a safe, shaded place to laugh, play, and just be kids—even under the Texas sun.
Because of this generosity, every dollar we raise during The Big Give will now go directly toward CASA’s mission—recruiting and leading Volunteer Advocates. That means more trained advocates and more children supported.
Together, we can ensure that children experiencing foster care have the consistent support of a CASA Advocate by their side. Every gift keeps our mission strong, and our children and advocates supported. Together, we can be the joy, the hope, and the light to children experiencing foster care in Bexar County.

The mission of Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA) is to recruit, develop, and lead dedicated court-appointed volunteers who provide consistency and care for children and youth who have experienced abuse and neglect. These Court Appointed Special Advocates serve as champions for a child’s best interests, making thoughtful recommendations to the judge regarding the child’s physical and emotional well-being. CASA fulfills this mission by advocating for services, building supportive connections, and working toward permanency, with an emphasis on family reunification whenever possible.
