Child Development Center (CDC) is a non-profit developmental day center located in Wilmington, NC. CDC serves children between the ages of three (3) and five (5) with moderate to serve disabilities in an inclusive preschool setting. We provided Birth-Kindergarten licensed teachers in all ten (10) classroom and a teaching assistant with 12 or less children per class. Students receive special education services and therapies as detailed in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).

State funding for developmental day centers has not increased in over 20 years. Due to stagnant funding, CDC relies on donations from our community to provide these valuable services. Here are what some parents have had to say about the program:

The CDC has been a blessing for my son.  They have helped him grow in every aspect, especially socially from the classroom setting and all the therapist and teachers have truly been amazing to him, I can’t thank them enough.

My 3 year old was behind on his communication and not talking at all. After only 1 week here I can already see a big difference. I'm very excited to see where we will be in a year! Thank you so much for helping my son.

My son has autism and they have done a phenomenal job with him. Getting ready for his second year there, much more progress ahead!

My son has only attended school here for 6 weeks and we have already seen a huge difference!! Thank you Ms. Latrece and Ms. Faye for everything you guys are doing to help our little boy!!
