Forty-one years ago in Hastings, working parents had few child care options. A group of dedicated individuals recognized a community need for affordable child care that was more than just babysitting. They formed the Child Development Council of Adams County and the group opened Pooh Corner Daycare later that year, the first daycare in Hastings.

That’s four decades of the Alphabet song. Four decades of story time. Four decades of providing care that allowed parents to work knowing their children were not just being watched, but being nurtured.

Today Pooh Corner provides child care at two locations: First Presbyterian Church and Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings.

We strive to meet the evolving needs in our community and serve families with special needs, such as low incomes and handicaps.

All donations of $41 or more will be entered in a giveaway drawing for a Husker weekend in Lincoln. The drawing will be held June 4. The winner will receive two tickets to first football game of the season, Nebraska vs. Florida Atlantic on Aug. 30, 2014. Also included is a hotel room for two nights, gas card and a meal card.
Runner-up prizes include 2 weeks of free daycare that can be used or donated, tickets to the Tri-City Storm hockey and tickets to the Lincoln Children's Zoo.
Donate $82 and your name will be entered twice. Donate $123 and your name will be entered 3 times.
