Child Justice's mission is to protect and advocate for children who have been abused or exposed to interpersonal violence or coercive control; to support them and their protective parents; and to promote change through legal services, community outreach, education, and policy recommendations.  

Child Justice is a Maryland-based nonprofit organization that works to protect children in child custody/access or protective order cases after exposure to family violence, physical or sexual abuse, substance misuse or neglect. Our Vision is a future in which every child's right to safety, dignity, and self-hood in a nurturing family is honored and protected. Your tax-deductible gift helps us continue to offer free legal representation, resources and support to protective parents and their children. 

We predominantly serve families across the State of Maryland and the Washington, DC metropolitan area. However, we have a national footprint, accepting qualified cases outside the DC area on a limited basis. We provide pro bono legal services and resources to support children and their protective parents, sometimes assisted by national law firms and local private practitioners. We promote change by educating judges, creating new case law, and raising awareness of the gaps and failures of society’s protection of our most vulnerable children.
