Mission

Child Life Society?s (CLS) mission is to improve the quality of life of children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis. CLS seeks to reduce the number of hospital admissions for each of the clients on the CLS program. CLS will improve the general atmosphere and reduce the level of stress for each of the families that have a member of their family affected by Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CLS seeks to improve school attendance and academic progress of the children affected by CF and their siblings.

Programs

Child Life Society (CLS) has developed a program which assesses the needs of the member of the family that is affected by Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and also assesses the needs of each of the family members who are indirectly affected. For the diseased member of the family, it is important to offer emotional support, guidance and counseling, food supplements and vitamins, an opportunity to experience a different climate and a therapeutic respite such as in Arizona during the cold winter season. For the entire family, CLS seeks to offer emotional support, guidance and counseling as a result of the emotional stress and attention required for the affected member of the family. In addition, CLS seeks to provide home care for the family in order to enable them to cope better with the time consuming attention and therapy needed by the affected child.
