Keeping mothers healthy ensures the stability of a household, no matter what what country they live in. Sick children drain vital financial and emotional resources. Children of the Americas (COTA)works diligently to provide donated surgical, medical and dental care to the women and children of Guatemala. By becoming part of the solution to medical care scarcity in Guatemala, COTA allows mothers like Catarina, Lucia and Hugenia to stay healthy so they can better care for their families. In January of this year 1,187 patients received donated medical care thanks to our talented and compassionate volunteers. Our volunteer dentists cared for 156 patients and 131 surgeries were donated. COTA volunteers pay their own expenses to travel with us, allowing all of our donated funds to be used for patient care.
