Childrens Advocacy Alliance

Children’s Advocacy Alliance (CAA) is a nonprofit organization that strives to be the independent voice for Nevada’s children by tackling the biggest issues that kids and families face. It is our belief that every child in the state deserves access to high quality early learning programs, deserves to grow up in safe and stable environments, and deserves affordable and high quality healthcare.

Having been involved in the non-profit community in Southern Nevada for some time, we have seen many programs receive support for the services they provide to children and their families, and we are proud to have personally supported some of those organizations. In doing so, we’ve witnessed how often it seems some of the larger issues – education, safety, healthcare – might be better addressed through changes in policy and practice.

CAA advocates for policy changes that benefit Nevada’s children and families by researching and utilizing current data. To coincide with our Legislative Session, we publish the biennial Children’s Report Card that shows where Nevada ranks for development indicators and behaviors compared with other states. The Report Card helps to highlight the severity of children’s issues which can open the conversation about promoting evidence-based policies, but CAA also serves the community in other ways. We engage organizations and agencies by bringing them together to address issues, challenges and opportunities regarding support for children’s well-being, ensuring transparent communication and coordination. We lead public education and outreach campaigns in order to insure parents and providers know what resources are available to them. We do all of these things to improve the systems that support the health and well-being of Nevada’s children; to show our community and legislative leaders that effective changes in policy can keep kids safe and help them grow. We believe that advocacy is vitally important to creating long-term, positive change for Nevada’s children and their families. The impact extends well beyond a few children or a few families, but to potentially every child and family in our state.
