At just 5 years old, on the second day of kindergarten, our son Jeff was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Hearing those words, "Your child has cancer!", is every parent’s worst nightmare.  The world stops.  Every moment is surrounded with uncertainty, anxiety, and yes, even fear.  What will the future hold for my child? How could this happen?

Unfortunately, we soon learned that it not only happens, but in fact, it happens all too frequently.  There are 12,000 children diagnosed with cancer annually in the United States.  To put that number in perspective, at least one child is diagnosed with cancer every hour in the United States!

Through our cancer journey, our family has learned that cancer is not discriminatory. It does not target specific ethnic or socio economic groups. Over the years we have met many wonderful families from all backgrounds and watched as they too have experienced the highs and the lows in the fight against cancer. We have witnessed their courage and the bravery of their children who have dealt with debilitating cancer treatments ranging from chemotherapy and radiation to surgery and bone marrow transplant. We have shared in the heartache when a child relapses or passes away and the joy when cancer treatment is successful.

It was our daughter, Jenny, who decided we were going to make a difference.  Eleven years ago, Children’s Cancer Network was created to assist Arizona's families battling childhood cancer. We strive to support children and families throughout their cancer journey with programs designed to provide financial assistance, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, build self-esteem, and create awareness of the issues they face related to childhood cancer.

Over the past 10 years our programs have grown to meet the needs of these courageous children and families in need.  Children’s Cancer Network Programs include:

  • Gas and Food Card Programs
  • Adopt a Family Programs for beds, clothing, supplies and household needs
  • Admission Bag Program
  • Scholarships
  • It’s All About You Health and Wellness Program
  • Wig Program
  • Survivorship Conferences
  • Patient and Family Education

Your generous contribution makes it possible to continue to meet the increasing needs of these children and families in Arizona.

Our goal is simple.  We strive to bring hope to Arizona’s children and families battling childhood cancer. Thank you for partnering with us to achieve this goal.
