THE CHILDREN’S SAFETY CENTER OF WASHINGTON COUNTY EMPOWERS CHILDREN TO OVERCOME ABUSE AND BEGIN TO TRUST, HOPE AND HEAL.

The Children’s Safety Center (CSC) provides five main services – child advocacy, forensic interviews, sexual assault exams, mental health therapy, and child abuse prevention trainings. All services are provided free of charge to the child and their family. 

Every child that visits the CSC is able to place their handprint on the walls of our center. They are an incredible symbol of bravery, healing, and the individuality of each child we see. 

The Children’s Safety Center (CSC) is a 501(c)3 organization opened in 1997, with the help of area professionals, churches, and private citizens dedicated to the goal of assisting alleged child abuse victims. The Children’s Safety Center is proud to be the first fully accredited Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), in the state of Arkansas and is also an accredited member of the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas and the National Children’s Alliance. 

The CSC was developed to help prevent further trauma that child victims of sexual and physical abuse might endure during the investigation process. The Children’s Safety Center helps to facilitate more effective prevention, detection, investigation, and treatment of child abuse by bringing together a team of professionals which includes the vital resources of local law enforcement agencies, child protective services, victim service providers, prosecutors, medical personnel, and mental health professionals.  This team of professionals (known as the Washington County Multi-Disciplinary Team or MDT) work together to ensure that the best interest of the child victims are being served.
