Circle Venture

Formed in 2012 by community member Megan Rosenbach in part with members from her church, Circle of Hope, Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary, also know as NICE, serves as a response team to meet the extracurricular needs of G. W. Childs Elementary School. NICE is made up of community members, some with children, and some without, who are dedicated to creating a safe, creative learning environment at our local public elementary school. 

Our mission is to complement the efforts already being put forth by school administration, staff and parents by executing service projects, raising funds, recruiting volunteers and providing community insight that will positively affect the student body and the community at large. 

We hope that investing in a neighborhood school as a group will ultimately build community by focusing our energy around a common goal: an excellent education for all children in the catchment area. At the heart of any vibrant neighborhood is a thriving school and we want to insure our heart keeps beating strong.

Values and Beliefs of NICE:

• We believe in supporting our neighborhood school and responding to the needs, as identified by staff, students, and parents.
• We recognize that the political landscape of Philadelphia Schools is complicated and difficult to navigate.
• We are committed to helping provide up-to-date information about School District policies, school test scores, building closures, school ratings, and more to the public.
• We value schools as a neighborhood epicenter.
• We believe in a bright future for Philadelphia, whether we have lived here our whole lives, or recently moved here from across the country.
• We value children as the future of this city and investing in their education is contributing to a more prosperous and peaceful future for Philadelphia.
