Why is exposure to S.T. E².A.M. programming important for underrepresented girls?

Women account for 50% of the world’s population, but make up only 24% of the S.T. E².A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Art, and Math) related workforce, with women of color accounting for less than 10% of the S.T. E².A.M. workforce.   Frequent and early exposure to S.T. E².A.M. programs significantly increases the chances of girls pursuing careers in related fields.  Chocolate Chips Association (CCA) is helping to change the face of the S.T. E².A.M. workforce!

How is CCA empowering underrepresented girls to advance in S.T. E².A.M. related careers?

CCA provides each participant with a multitude of engaging, educational, and inspiring programming, all designed to instill a passion for S.T. E².A.M.  In addition, participants receive mentoring to help instill values that promote cultural awareness and healthy living lifestyles. Over the last 18 years, CCA has exposed, inspired, and empowered over 1,000 of the next generation of female leaders to seek careers in S.T. E².A.M.  Participants graduate from CCA with a greater level of confidence and an enhanced desire to succeed.   

How can you help support and expose more young female leaders to S.T. E².A.M. related careers? 

Your financial support helps to provide resources for development of curriculum and programming, in addition to individual S.T. E².A.M. Kits for each session.  And contributions from donors like you support the following CCA program activities: 

• Scientific Workshops
• Computer Coding and Technology Classes
• Robotics / Engineering Workshops
• STEAM focused Field Trips
• Entrepreneurship / Finance Classes
• Self-Esteem / Leadership / Empowerment Projects
