Hello! Community Health Outreach is building an outdoor reading and education pavilion for children and their families this Fall 2021, and we need your help!

All money raised here will go toward building the pavilion, featuring protected book storage, sun shades, seating, and heaps of books for our young readers. Over 200 families walk, ride the bus, or carpool to Community Health Outreach needing diapers, baby food and clothing for their young ones. Story Time at the Reading and Education Pavilion will allow a volunteer to read a book then give a copy to take home each month. At the start of every month, a new book will be read at story time and distributed for families to take home so they can then build their own library.

A generous donor has agreed to match all funds raised here up to $9,500, and USA TODAY will open up several grant opportunities if we can raise $6,000 in the next four weeks. That means for every dollar you give, Community Health Outreach gets two.

A little about us: Community Health Outreach was established in 1988 in an area of food insecurity significantly above national averages and highest need for medical care for low- and no-income uninsured residents of West Jacksonville, Florida. We distributed 125,000 diapers (50 diapers per child per month), served over 25,400 boxes of groceries to seniors, veterans, and families, and provided essential medical and dental care to over 800 patients without insurance in 2020. Our goal is to feed, clothe, and heal those most in need in Jacksonville and the surrounding rural communities.
