Christian Diaz, 57, passed from this life into the hands of his loving Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at 5:45 p.m. With grace, dignity and trust in God every day, Chris battled valiantly against the cancer myriad of treatments that were to be a part of these past two years of his life.

We want to raise funds for the Diaz family to cover most if not all of the medical expenses that was built up in the past 2 years.

About Christian Diaz

Chris was born Feb. 2, 1955, in Havana, Cuba. The family, including his parents, Florentino and Caruca Diaz, and younger brother, Rolando, came to the U.S. in October 1965 along with other family members. The family became residents of Miami, Fla., where Chris grew up. Following high school, Chris attended Abilene Christian University and received a bachelor's degree in fine arts and minor in theology. During those years in Abilene he made significant contributions to the Abilene art community, many of which are still appreciated today. Following graduation, Chris served churches in Houston and Abilene and later pursued his work in advertising and design. His company, Source 4 Creative Services, served many high-profile Metroplex clients. In recent years, Chris worked as a creative consultant for businesses such as Arbonne and Rodan+Fields. His talents as an inspirational and motivational speaker produced several industry awards and invitations to serve as a keynote speaker for these companies. His passion for art always found its place in his life. Many of his early sculptures are coveted pieces that are found in the homes of family, friends, business associates and celebrities around the country. One of his most recognized pieces of work is the large eagle outside the AmeriPlan headquarters in Plano. Survivors: Chris is survived by his loving wife, Belinda; children, Lauryn Carr and husband, Joe, of Jonesboro, Ark., Jonathan Diaz and wife, Paige, of Arlington, Alexander Diaz of the home and Trina Dillard of Arlington. He is also survived by a sister, Rena Gonzales of Miami, Fla.; brother, Florentino Diaz of Miami, Fla., and Rolando Diaz of Dallas. Additionally, Chris had four grandchildren, Lucile and Levi Carr, Brooklynn and Huntir Thompson. The list of extended family, treasured friends and business associates is untold.
